Remembering Joao Gilberto

Brazilian singer, songwriter, and guitarist Joao Gilberto passed away Saturday July 6, 2019. Gilberto is fondly remembered as O Mito (The Legend) for his role in pioneering bossa nova in the late 1950s. Gilberto’s 1964 collaboration with saxophonist Stan Getz resulted in unforgettable songs like “The Girl From Ipanema” and won the artists a Grammy.
