September 22nd, 2004 • INTERVIEW:From The Show: Blacks, Whites, Blues and Country: Charley Pride and Charlie MusselwhiteBorn into a working-class family in Kosciusko, Mississippi, Charlie Musselwhite's family relocated to Memphis where he learned blues harmonica from legends like Furry Lewis and Will Shade. Moving to Chicago in the '50s, Musselwhite heard and played with all the post-war blues greats plus recording his own South Side Band. He relocated to the West Coast in the '60s and continues to maintains his position as the most credible, organic member of the '60s white blues/rock movement.
