REMEMBERING SHARON JONES


Sharon Jones, the powerful front woman of the 11- member Dap Kings died November 18th. She led the group in reimagining funk tunes and tapping into the soul of old school grooves. Originally from Augusta, Georgia, she pursued music professionally late in life, after working as prison guard at Rikers Island. You can read more about her life and music here.
